My Time of Healing
3 fiction + 3 non-fiction!
In my order of preference :)
1. MACHINES LIKE ME - Just BRILLIANT! I learned more about AI here than any other article I’ve read. Ian is a masterful writer and a highly cerebral storyteller.
2. THE NAMESAKE - Exquisitely beautiful and likely the best fiction I’ve read. I absolutely love Jhumpa Lahiri’s writing and aspire to it.
3. THE GREATEST YOU - I went through a period of funk a few months ago and Trent pulled me up with his deeply authentic message.
4. BORN A CRIME - Highly entertaining. My favourite quote from the book - “Being chosen is the greatest gift you can give to another human.” Trevor’s feelings on being accepted by his absent father.
5. MAY 13- Required reading for all Malaysians so we understand the true motivations of race-based politics, and how diabolical powers-that-be have shaped Malaysia today. Malaysia can never progress as a nation if we do not think as one.
6. LIVES OF GIRLS AND WOMEN - Munro is a gifted American writer, yet I suffered throughout the entire book.
